Feel Good Video: Hope & Saving

Wrapping up a busy stretch of conferences, our growing team is feeling inspired. This update highlights saver success stories, industry events, policy discussions, research on financial resilience, and an exciting new addition to the Sunny Day Fund team.

What a Saver Said: Why They Save

One of the most rewarding parts of our work is hearing directly from Savers about our program. One such Saver at Precipart, one of our manufacturing clients, shared their story: having money set aside automatically from each paycheck has made saving easier—especially for their vacation.

Now you may be thinking... how's that an emergency? What we continue to see is that large cash outlays, like for a vacation, could become a negative financial shock. But saving for that goal intentionally instead does three things:

1. It reduces the chance of taking on costly credit card debt.
2. It lowers the anxiety associated with what is supposed to be... a vacation! Rest & relaxation.
3. And if something does happen along the way, the funds are there as backup.

Thank you to our partners at Precipart for helping make those savings goals and outcomes possible.

Outcome 2030: Trump Accounts

Hosted by Lafayette Square USA, Lafayette Square Technologies, and Worker Solutions, we got to see firsthand how the beautiful collision of private markets, public policy, philanthropy, tech, and AI can unlock economic mobility for hardworking Americans.

My personal favorite from the conference was a short video showcasing several of Worker Solutions' partners—and I was surprised to see our emergency savings program and one of our Savers highlighted. It's a great reminder that when employers work with leaders like Worker Solutions to roll out benefits that work, and Sunny Day Fund to make saving easy and rewarding, the results can be truly life-changing and hope-giving.

Public Employers & Economic Mobility Webinar

A special thank you to Brett Theodos of Urban Institute for convening an insightful conversation on how state and local governments can help employees build wealth and strengthen economic mobility.

One message stood out throughout the discussion: wealth building starts long before retirement savings. From emergency savings and financial coaching to public benefits access and employee support programs, public employers have a powerful opportunity to help workers weather financial shocks and build a stronger foundation for the future.

Reducing Insurance Costs with Workplace Emergency Savings

Financial stress is an overlooked driver of safety risks in the logistics industry. Research from the University of Pittsburgh shows that helping employees build emergency savings can reduce financial precarity, improve driving performance, lower safety citations, and create positive outcomes for employers, insurers, and workers alike.

2026 Defined Contribution Dashboard

The "you get what you measure"adage especially rings true in the retirement industry. At the DCIIA/EBRI/SPARKPublic Policy Forum, it was exciting to see the dashboard covering nearly 148 million plan participants.

What caught our attention was the nearly $100 billion in plan loans and the growing opportunity for rollovers. As policymakers introduce innovations suchas 530As and Saver's Match to drive retirement wealth, we remain convinced that emergency savings remains the foundation of long-term financial security.
